Status & intent
This is a point-in-time capture of an evolving mental model, taken 28 October 2026. It is not ready for publication, not complete, and not verified.

It exists to provoke further contemplation and conversation, not to settle anything. Treat every position, question and diagram here as provisional.

01 / Executive synthesis

A system for governed autonomy, not just faster code.

The emerging Agentic PDLC combines goal-directed agents, qualified institutional knowledge, contextual decision rights, layered assurance, and two evidence-driven learning loops. Its purpose is to shorten the path from intent to accepted outcomes without making human accountability ceremonial.

The central design question
What must an accountable human understand to authorize consequential agent work—and which obligations cannot be waived even with informed consent?

What has crystallized

Eight reinforcing principles, with different levels of endorsement and specificity.

Three boundaries to keep visible

Concept ≠ implementation

A graph-like knowledge model

Richly linked, qualified assertions are favored conceptually. No graph database, schema, query engine, or canonical store has been chosen.

Agreement ≠ authorization

A direction, not ratification

The documents capture user positions, tentative agreements and assistant proposals. They do not establish organizationally binding architecture or policy.

Evidence ≠ aspiration

Validation is still owed

Agent independence, risk classification, attention savings, enterprise scalability, and process gains are hypotheses requiring observed outcomes.

02 / Conceptual architecture

The interacting systems of thought.

Select a node to explore the mechanism, relationships and the unresolved design work behind it. This is a dependency map, not a physical component diagram.

The architectural hypothesis

Synthesis — not an adopted design
Intent and obligations guide autonomous work; knowledge discovery and risk controls shape what may be done; assurance supplies evidence; human authority resolves consequential choices; operational results update both product and process.
03 / Position register

What we believe, and how firmly.

A curated cross-file decision ledger. Filter by status or subject, then expand a position for its reasoning, remaining boundary and source pointer. These are discussion statuses, not implementation approvals.

04 / Unresolved design space

The questions that actually matter.

Eighteen decision-shaping questions grouped by domain. Priorities reflect the supplied discussion map; they are not a voted roadmap.

05 / End-to-end mental model

Follow one change through the system.

A synthesized operating journey from idea to operational learning. Click each stage to inspect agent work, human decision points, proof obligations and failure modes. This is illustrative, not an approved workflow.

Two learning loops, not one

Loop A · Product

Did the change deliver and preserve value?

Feature acceptance, invariants, nonfunctional quality, telemetry, customer outcomes and operational acceptance may evolve over time.

Loop B · PDLC

Did the delivery system work well?

Evaluate escalation quality, attention cost, escaped risk, rework, drift, cost per accepted result and routing quality—without optimizing proxies blindly.

Meta-governance

Who may change the rules?

Agents can propose improvements to their own orchestration and controls, but weakening governing constraints requires independent authority and evidence.

06 / Productive contradictions

The tensions to test, not erase.

These are potential inconsistencies from the discussion map—not proven contradictions. Each becomes useful when turned into a discriminating scenario.

07 / Provenance & confidence

Where this model came from.

Five attached Markdown knowledge artifacts underpin this exploration. Source pointers identify documents and sections; the app is a curated synthesis, not a line-perfect citation engine.

Evidence policy
Do not promote an assistant proposal, interview report, working assumption, or synthetic connection into an authoritative design decision without explicit validation.

Scope: the five files supplied in this project snapshot. External enterprise studies and quantitative feasibility claims have not been independently validated by this atlas.
